E - Engage and develop your people
- Shoulder tap - What gifts / skills are you looking for in your team members? Look for those people. See "How to Shoulder-Tap."
- Assess your team members using the 5Cs - Character, Commitment, Chemistry, Competence, Call. See "The 5Cs."
R- Reinvent continually
- The status quo is the enemy. "Good enough" is not good enough.
- Combat the status quo with regularly scheduled AARs.
V - Value relationships and results.
- Valuing relationships means being sensitive to the needs to others. Valuing results means ensuring the ministry mission gets done. There must be a balance between the two.
- Celebration and fellowshiping as a team is essential. Calendarize it.
- Do not practice dark conversations.
E- Embody the values.
- Lead by example, embody the values by living out the 5Cs.
- Be physically, mentally and emotionally present for your team.
