PRINCIPLES OF PRAYER
PRAYER TECHNIQUE
Prayer Technique
• 1-2 minutes of silence - shut your mind off and take deep breaths
• Call to worship - read one of these Psalms (100, 67, 24, 95)
• Invocation - opening prayer (invite God in)
• Listen to two praise and worship songs (receive it)
• Read another one of the Psalms (can skip if time is short)
• Pick a book of the Bible and march through it (stay away from Romans, Hebrews, and Revelation) and march through it. Read it slowly and ask yourself what is Jesus saying to me and why is He saying this to me? Observe what is happening and applying. If something grabs your attention, dwell there - write it down - if not, read on
• Read extra biblical work like a devotional (can skip if time is short)
• What you hear, pray it back - Romans 8: 28-30
