What is the week of prayer?

The Week of Prayer is a dedicated time twice a year when our entire congregation sets aside a week to come together and pray. It’s a foundational rhythm in the life of our church - one week in January to start the year, and one in August to prepare for the second half. These two weeks out of 52 are all about seeking God together - for our church, our people, and our community.

Why do we it?

Prayer is how we access the power and presence of God in our church. He is the head, and we are the body so we look to Him for guidance, strength, and unity. While not everyone may feel called to pray out loud or in groups, our prayer warriors lead the way. These are people who love to pray and are gifted in encouraging others through prayer. Like yeast in dough, they help the rest of the church rise spiritually. Whether you feel confident in prayer or are just learning, this is a space for everyone to grow.

What can i expect at a prayer gathering?

The week kicks off with a call to prayer during Sunday services. Throughout the week we hold three in-person prayer gatherings. Each one begins with 30 minutes of dinner and fellowship, followed by a time of Spirit-led prayer in the sanctuary. We form a prayer circle and anyone is welcome to pray aloud or simply observe. There's no pressure and no time limit. Stay as long as you feel led and leave quietly when you're ready. The focus is on being in God’s presence together and letting the Spirit lead.
