Sunday AM rehearsal actions

1. Pre-Rehearsal (these actions occur prior to the team arriving)

  • Retrieve and lay out:
    • singer microphones
    • in-ear packs
    • preacher headset mic
  • Check batteries
  • Plug in bar stage lights on back of stage
  • Plug in and turn on preaching receiver on the stage
  • Turn on all equipment in the AVL booth
    • sound board
    • receivers under the sound board
    • all computers
    • cameras
    • TVs on stage and confidence monitor in back
    • house lights and stage lights

2. Pre-rehearsal actions once team has arrived

  • Gather the team for a short prayer
  • Review song selections just for clarity with the team and AVL booth, in particular the person operating pro-presenter
  • Review who is singing each song. Weekly rehearsals and Sundays are to be the the same.
  • TAKE THE PLATFORM - Identify who is standing where. (platform placement)

3. Rehearsal order

1. Warm up while on the platform
  • tune instruments
  • adjust in-ears with soundboard / sound person
  • adjust in-house mix

2. Practice first song

3. DRUMMER - PRACTICE THE PRE-ROLL TO 1ST SONG TRANSITION
  • Talk through with the drummer how to transition from the pre-roll to the 1st song
  • Practice transitioning from the pre-roll to the 1st song. PERCUSSION ALWAYS STARTS THE FIRST SONG. THIS MUST BE NAILED BY THE DRUMMER. DRUMMER SETS THE TEMPO.  

4. Worship team rehearses songs

5. Full service walk through
  • Practice taking the platform. WORSHIP LEADER / TEAM GETS PEOPLE THEM TO THEIR FEET AND CLAPPING FOR LAST 30 SECONDS OF PRE-ROLL / WHEN THEY TAKE THE PLATFORM
  • AVL actions
  • Practice transitions
  • Practice announcements
  • Ensure preaching mic works and any preaching slides are loaded.

4. AVL actions during pre-roll (lobby tv operations)

  • TV off while team practicing once online mix is set with soundboard person
  • 9:30 AM - TV plays announcements with Spotify playing in background
  • 9:55 AM - Switch to pre-roll
  • Progression of TV volume to move people from lobby into sanctuary:
    • manually adjust volume with TV remote
    • 20 - normal
    • 40 - 2 minutes out
    • 60 - last 45 seconds
