Ministry Intern Position

Embark Church is accepting both men and women as ministry interns. We are looking for candidates who feel called to ministry and are interested in receiving mentoring and hands-on learning. The objective of our internship is to facilitate the discovery of their gifts and skills, teach how to develop a spiritual life, encounter God in a deeper way, practice doing ministry and ultimately develop candidates for their future ministry. Interns will spend time working in each department and interact with staff and key leaders to include the lead pastor. As long as candidates are teachable, committed, feel called to ministry and have our ministry culture, this person has the opportunity to become a full-time employee and / or associate pastor upon graduation. Depending on where you live or attend school, we may pay a mileage stipend.  If interested, please fill out this form.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

1. Is Embark part of a denomination?
Embark is not associated with a denomination. However, we are part of a church network known as the mPACT network. Our network consists of other like minded churches. These churches and their leaders routinely gather to pray, fellowship, train, resource and encourage one another.

2. What size church is Embark?
Embark currently averages 130 adults at Sunday services and 25-30 kids ages 10 and under. We have over 200 who claim Embark as their home church. We are looking for leaders who will help spiritually grow our existing people and help us numerically grow in the community.

3. What is our worship style?
Our service is approximately 65 minutes. It centers around singing to God and then preaching a life-applicable message from the Bible. Our lead pastor’s preaching style is more expository and teaching than topical. The music is “contemporary,” meaning we have a band consisting of guitars, drums and a keyboard. We believe worship should be fun, exciting and sacred all at the same time.

5. Who is the pastor?
Jud Jordan is the lead pastor. With support from his wife Cathy, Jud founded the church out of his home in 2014. Jud is an ordained Presbyterian minister with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) although Embark is a non-denominational church. Jud graduated from The Citadel with his undergraduate degree and Columbia Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree. He served as an active duty US Army officer for 3 years after graduating the Citadel before transferring and finishing his military career with 20 years in the Army National Guard. Being an entrepreneur at heart, he helped launch an accounting firm that was later bought out before responding to the call to ministry and entering seminary.
