Internships

Embark Church has an internship program to develop students in the following ministry areas.

These internships are unpaid. Our goal is to help you with skill development, building your resume, and fulfilling any needed internship hours for your college degree.

Worship Internships

Worship Leader

The worship leader is responsible for building, developing and leading Embark’s in-person worship experience as we move into 2 services. We have an existing small, core team in need of leadership and management.
 
Specific areas of learning and duties will include:  
 
Leading Worship Team
  • Create a cohesive worship team and culture
  • Lead the mid-week worship rehearsal
  • Lead the Sun AM service walk-thru rehearsal
  • Facilitate the congregational worship experience through the worship team
  • Develop and coach recruits and team members on how to improve
 
Recruiting / Auditioning
  • Recruit and manage the recruiting process
  • Manage the auditioning process
 
Administration / Planning
  • Using Planning Center Online, manage all worship team members, the song database and service flow. Team members include production (AVL personnel) and worship (musicians / instrumentalists)
 
Worship Experience for Congregation
  • Create more impactful / creative response times
  • Create creative worship experiences

There is a potential stipend for this position based on experience and leadership qualities. 

Worship Team Internships

These internships are part of the Embark worship team and follow the direction of the worship leader.
 
Specific areas of learning may include:  
 
Vocals
  • Lead and harmony

Musicians
  • Guitar
  • Drums
  • Keyboard

AVL 
  • Lights
  • Cameras
  • Lyrics
  • Soundboard

Child Development Internship

Learn how a children's ministry department operates by being a working part of the team, engage children through teaching on Sunday morning, and suggest ideas of where we can improve.

Specific areas of learning and duties will include:  
1. Administration: Learning and executing the administration associated with operating a children’s ministry. This includes:
  • Scheduling volunteers
  • Preparing lessons & activities
  • Preparing to receive students on Sunday mornings
  • Using technology to accomplish necessary tasks

2. Sunday Morning: Rotating through and learning how to operate the various children’s ministry areas on Sunday morning. They are:  
  • Preparation to receive children and volunteers
  • Operation of children’s check-in and dismissal
  • Operation of four classrooms ranging from ages 0-10, to include teaching.  
  • Actions after kids and volunteers have left

3. Communication:  Learning how to prepare and communicate with:
  • Parents
  • Children Ministry volunteers / team members
  • Kids

4. Outside Sunday morning:  Learn through assisting in the planning, organizing and implementing of any events / activities.

5. Other:  There may be other assigned duties depending on the student's interest and competence level.  

youth mentoring

Learn how to lead middle and high school students through teaching, lesson development, leading group activities, and more.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Develop & Oversee Curriculum Implementation
•Create themes and spiritual growth objectives (Big Vision)
•Train student ministry team members on teaching lessons
•Create weekly outlines, goal of lesson, and discussion questions

Planning
•Manage student ministry calendar
•Schedule team members for various positions - large group lessons, small group leaders, etc.
•Plan fun events/outreach opportunities
•Coordinate with parents for meals
•Coordinate any paperwork, money, transportation etc for events

Data Tracking
•Attendance

Communication
•Meet weekly with team (20-30 minutes) to explain lessons, goals, calendar, check-in on team members, students, etc.
•Send communication to parents and students via groupme and mailchimp
•Create and implement content calendar for student social media

Other
•Will be in attendance on Sunday mornings at Embark to connect with students. 

Media / Marketing Internship

Learn how to use media (video, photos, and graphics) to inform and tell stories.

Specific areas of learning and duties will include:  
  • Record, edit, and upload video content from different ministry areas for use on our website, social media, and in-service.
  • Record and edit weekly announcement videos.
  • Create graphics for in-service and social media using the guidelines of our brand kit.
