Actions to take leading up to your group start date

Planning & Launch Party
  • Be at the grow group leader training.
  • During group sign-up days - Be at church at 9:15 am for prayer, setting up your group station, and prepare to meet and greet people.
  • Be at the NFL Draft date.


4-5 days prior to 1st meeting
  • Set up a communication tool (for example: groupme)
  • Make sure you have access to your LEAD group.
  • Determine when you are going to have fellowship gatherings outside of your regular meeting times.
  • Send a message to the group with the following details:
    • Meeting Location
    • Meeting Day/Time
    • Childcare Details (if needed)
    • Book Order Details (if needed)
    • Dinner details

Example: Hey everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is X and I am the leader of this grow group. I look forward to meeting you this Sunday at 6 PM at the church. If you need childcare, it will be at the church in the nursery during our time together. If you haven’t purchased your book yet, here is the link: X. This Sunday we will have dinner together at 6 PM, and our discussion will begin around 6:30 PM. I look forward to seeing you then.
Day before 1st meeting
  • Send a message to the group with the following details:
    • Meeting location and time
    • Dinner details
    • Childcare details
    • Online meeting link
Example: Hey everyone, just a reminder we’re meeting this Sunday at 6 PM at the church. If you need childcare, it will be at the church in the nursery during our time together. This Sunday we will have dinner together at 6 PM, and our discussion will begin around 6:30 PM. If you are unable to join us in person, here is the Google Meet link: X.

During your first meeting
  • Gather the contact info for everyone in your group.
  • Delegate roles, specifically prayer tracker/CC care concerns, meal organizer, photo taker, etc.
  • Communicate the schedule to include the community building fellowship gatherings.

After the 1st meeting
  • Make sure everyone is in your CCB/Lead Group.
  • Take attendance in the LEAD app.
  • Reach out personally to any person who signed up for your group and did not attend the 1st meeting.
