Actions to take leading up to your group start date

4-5 days prior to 1st meeting

  • Set up a communication tool (for example, GroupMe).
  • Confirm you have access to your LEAD group.
  • Send a message to the group with the following details:
    • Meeting location
    • Meeting day/time
    • Childcare details (if needed)
    • Book order details (if needed)
    • Dinner details

Example: Hey everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is [Name], and I'm the leader of this Grow Group. I look forward to meeting you this [Day] at [Time] at [Location]. If you need childcare, it will be at the church in the nursery during our time together. If you haven't purchased your book yet, here is the link: [Link]. This [Day] we'll have dinner together at [Time], and our discussion will begin around [Time]. I look forward to seeing you then.

Day prior to 1st meeting

  • Send a message to the group with the following details:
    • Meeting location and time
    • Childcare details (if needed)
    • Dinner details

Example: Hey everyone, just a reminder we're meeting this [Day] at [Time] at [Location]. If you need childcare, it will be at the church in the nursery during our time together. This [Day] we'll have dinner together at [Time], and our discussion will begin around [Time]. I look forward to seeing you there. 

During the 1st meeting

  • Gather contact info for everyone in your group.
  • Delegate roles: communication, admin, hospitality, photographer, prayer gatherer, attendance taker
  • Communicate the schedule, including any fellowship gatherings outside your regular meeting times.
