Women: The Spirit-Filled Life | Beginning Tuesday, April 10 @ 6 AM | Cracker Barrel | Books – $11 | No Childcare
Are you trying your best to be a good Christian but still feel something’s missing? Do the peace and joy you long for seem to elude you? Does following Christ sometimes feel like a lot of work—or like it’s just not working very well?
Much has been written and spoken about the Holy Spirit and what it means to be filled with the Spirit. Charles Stanley introduces you to a living Person as real and active as God the Father and Christ the Son.
Men: 5 Lies That Ruin Relationships | Beginning Sunday, April 15 @ 5:30 PM | Smith Home in Orangeburg | Books – $10 | Childcare Available
Have you ever looked back over a situation or relationship in your life and wondered how it became so messy or difficult? In the series from the book of James, Five Lies that Ruin Relationships, we’ll define five of the most common lies that have the potential to ruin relationships with those we love. We’ll also uncover the source of quarreling, how our words wound, and how not to make decisions. And together, we’ll ask and answer the question: do wrong beliefs produce wrong behavior? We will discover that when we confront the lies we believe, there is power in knowing and applying God’s truth to our relationships.
How to Share Your Faith | Beginning Tuesday, April 17 @ 6 PM | 955 Riverside Drive | Childcare Available
Are you interested in learning “how to” share your faith with another? Perhaps you want to “disciple” or “feed” another but don’t know how. Whether a friend to one, a mom of two, a co-worker of 12 or a manager of 50, you can learn how to share your faith and help another grow. We recommend that you complete the Spiritual Life prior to this 8-10 week course.
Women: Soul Sisters | Join anytime! | Thursdays @ 6:30 PM | 955 Riverside Drive | Books – $10 | No Childcare
What if you discovered you have been entrusted with an invisible, invincible and incorruptible weapon? Would you use it? Creatively forging the imagery of swords, the Word of God, and the Cross… “Girls with Swords” will teach how to speak the language of heaven on earth, what it means to intercede, what it means to carry your cross, what it means to be discerning, how to disarm the enemy, and why women are the enemy’s target and why God needs them to be heroes.
Prayer | Join anytime! | Tuesdays @ 6 PM | 955 Riverside Drive | Childcare Available
Do you REALLY want to experience God? Gathering and praying with others is where His presence is most felt and supernatural stuff happens. With that said, this group is open to everyone independent of prayer experience. Just know this:
- You will never be asked to pray out loud or share your feelings.
- You WILL be praying with others who have more prayer experience. Because prayer is more caught than taught, this is how you learn to pray.
- You will never be judged or condemned because of your prayer experience level by ANYONE.
- Fear and pride are the two most common vices that keep people from joining prayer and thus, experiencing God with others.
Student Ministry | Youth Advisors | Sundays at 5:30 PM | 955 Riverside Drive
Our student ministry consists of a vibrant group of junior and senior high kids. They meet every Sunday night and have dinner, fellowship / activity time and then a lesson designed to foster their spiritual growth. During the teaching time, the kids are divided between junior and senior high. The students also periodically have fun, fellowship events as well as community service projects.
Embark’s mission is to help people spiritually grow
Spiritual growth does not happen in isolation. It occurs by being exposed to in-depth teaching, seeing its life application, encountering Jesus in trusted relationships and engaging in meaningful discussion. These actions take place in grow groups.
Grow Groups are small groups of usually 6-12 people hat meet on a sustained basis to encounter Jesus, encourage one another and educate themselves about the things of faith. They are so important that they are the central element at Embark Church for spiritual growth. Everything revolves around them.
Grow Groups operate operate on a semester system (spring, summer, fall). They usually meet in homes, where an informal meal is available and then teaching. The meal is important because connecting and fellowshipping with one others is essential in fostering a learning environment. Food is the best way to do this. Also, childcare is always provided.
Before each semester, there is an opportunity to explore what is offered and ask questions. The course offering and explanation is offered and there are opportunities to sign up on this webpage, at church or during our small groups launch parties.
