Developing the Spiritual Life | Jud Jordan | Sundays at 6 PM | Jordan Home in Orangeburg

The most common obstacle to experiencing a personal relationship with God is simply not knowing HOW. Most have never been taught how to pray, read scripture or engage God in such a way as to hear His voice. As a result, many never fully experience His power in their lives. This course addresses those problems by giving practical, “how to” techniques in engaging God. It specifically covers:

1. Experiencing the gospel. The Gospel, that is the Good News of what God has done for you through Jesus and sustained by the Holy Spirit, is the core of having a vibrant faith. Truly experiencing the power of God in our lives is not possible without this.

2. Building healthy spiritual practices into our lives. Spiritual practices such as prayer, reading scripture, scripture memorization and many others are key to hearing from God. Not only will we teach what practices will help you but more importantly “how to” do them.

Childcare is available for this group.

Romans 12 (R12) | Evelyn Pickens | Sundays at 5:30 PM (updated) | Address changed to 955 Riverside Drive | Books-$10

Being a genuine disciple of Christ flows out of a relationship with Him. It’s about experiencing God’s grace, not earning His love through performance. A real relationship with Jesus Christ will produce a follower whose life looks progressively more like His life. Romans 12 provides a relational profile of an authentic disciple: someone who is surrendered to God, separate from the world’s values, sober in self-assessment, serving in love and supernaturally responds to evil with good. Christians who live out this kind of lifestyle are what we call r12 Christians. God is willing to go deeper and grow you into a real disciple… are you ready?

Prayer | Carl Grove | Tuesdays at 6 PM | 955 Riverside Drive

Do you REALLY want to experience God? Gathering and praying with others is where His presence is most felt and supernatural stuff happens. With that said, this group is open to everyone independent of prayer experience. Just know this: 1. You will never be asked to pray out loud or share your feelings. 2. You WILL be praying with others who have more prayer experience. Because prayer is more caught than taught, this is how you learn to pray. 3. You will never be judged or condemned because of your prayer experience level by ANYONE. 4. Fear and pride are the two most common vices that keep people from joining prayer and thus, experiencing God with others.

Childcare is available for this group.

Women PM | Stephanie Garrick | Sundays at 6 PM | Your Divine Design: Discovering and Using Your Spiritual Gifts | Garrick Home in Cope | Books-$10

Do you know that you, your friends, and the members of your church are God’s “masterpiece?” God has a dream for your life. He didn’t save you just so He could take you to heaven. He has an assignment for you here on earth. He created you in His image, He filled you with His Spirit, and He blessed you with spiritual gifts so you could live a life of impact. But until you know how to recognize and use your gifts, you will never experience all that God wants you to experience. You were meant to discover how He has uniquely wired you, and the roles in the body of Christ that He created you to fulfill.

Instead, it will help you experience a shift from complex to simple, from hurried to peaceful, from ‘never enough time’ to ‘time enough for those you love.’ Lasting change is within your reach! Embark’s mission is to help people spiritually grow

grow Embark Church Orangeburg, SC

Spiritual growth does not happen in isolation.  It occurs by being exposed to in-depth teaching, seeing its life application, encountering Jesus in trusted relationships and engaging in meaningful discussion.  These actions take place in grow groups.

What is a grow group?

Grow Groups are small groups of usually 6-12 people hat meet on a sustained basis to encounter Jesus, encourage one another and educate themselves about the things of faith.  They are so important that they are the central element at Embark Church for spiritual growth.  Everything revolves around them.

Where and what do they look like?

Grow Groups operate operate on a semester system (spring, summer, fall).   They usually meet in homes, where an informal meal is available and then teaching.  The meal is important because connecting and fellowshipping with one others is essential in fostering a learning environment.  Food is the best way to do this.  Also, childcare is always provided.

How do I get involved?

Before each semester, there is an opportunity to explore what is offered and ask questions.  The course offering and explanation is offered and there are opportunities to sign up on this webpage, at church or during our small groups launch parties.
