Spiritual Life Small Group @ the Jordan Home | Jud Jordan | Sundays @ 6 PM beginning Sept. 9 | Childcare available at 955 Riverside Drive

The most common obstacle to experiencing a personal relationship with God is simply not knowing HOW. Most have never been taught how to pray, read scripture or engage God in such a way as to hear His voice. As a result, many never fully experience His power in their lives. This course addresses those problems by giving practical, “how to” techniques in engaging God. It specifically covers:

  1. Experiencing the gospel. The Gospel, that is the Good News of what God has done for you through Jesus and sustained by the Holy Spirit, is the core of having a vibrant faith. Truly experiencing the power of God in our lives is not possible without this.
  2. Building healthy spiritual practices into our lives. Spiritual practices such as prayer, reading scripture, scripture memorization and many others are key to hearing from God. Not only will we teach what practices will help you but more importantly “how to” do them.

But many of today’s Christians face one difficult question: How do I discover my spiritual gifts and then use them effectively in my church? This series will unpack key passages from Romans, Ephesians, and 1 Corinthians to explore the role of spiritual gifts in the believer’s life, while helping you to pinpoint your own. Women’s AM: Listening to God @ Cracker Barrel | Ann Foley | Tuesdays @ 6 AM beginning Sept. 11 | No Childcare

Talking to God is easy. It’s the listening that’s the hard part. Although most of us can talk with ease to our best friend, many of us aren’t so good at keeping quiet and hearing what our friend has to say. So it is with God. For true communication with Him, we must learn to listen through understanding His Word. Dr. Charles Stanley’s Listening to God, part of the Life Principles Study Series, presents a sound way to explore the Word and hear God’s truths. You’ll learn to identify with the passages, recognize your emotional response, reflect on the passages’ meaning and take steps to apply what you’ve learned. Cost for materials is $10.

Prayer Group @ 955 Riverside Drive | Carl Grove | Tuesdays @ 6 PM | Join Anytime! | Childcare available on-site.

Do you REALLY want to experience God? Gathering and praying with others is where His presence is most felt and supernatural stuff happens. With that said, this group is open to everyone independent of prayer experience. Just know this: 1. You will never be asked to pray out loud or share your feelings. 2. You WILL be praying with others who have more prayer experience. Because prayer is more caught than taught, this is how you learn to pray. 3. You will never be judged or condemned because of your prayer experience level by ANYONE. 4. Fear and pride are the two most common vices that keep people from joining prayer and thus, experiencing God with others.

Embark’s mission is to help people spiritually grow

grow Embark Church Orangeburg, SC

Spiritual growth does not happen in isolation.  It occurs by being exposed to in-depth teaching, seeing its life application, encountering Jesus in trusted relationships and engaging in meaningful discussion.  These actions take place in grow groups.

What is a grow group?

Grow Groups are small groups of usually 6-12 people hat meet on a sustained basis to encounter Jesus, encourage one another and educate themselves about the things of faith.  They are so important that they are the central element at Embark Church for spiritual growth.  Everything revolves around them.

Where and what do they look like?

Grow Groups operate operate on a semester system (spring, summer, fall).   They usually meet in homes, where an informal meal is available and then teaching.  The meal is important because connecting and fellowshipping with one others is essential in fostering a learning environment.  Food is the best way to do this.  Also, childcare is always provided.

How do I get involved?

Before each semester, there is an opportunity to explore what is offered and ask questions.  The course offering and explanation is offered and there are opportunities to sign up on this webpage, at church or during our small groups launch parties.
